In the territory of Kyrgyzstan there is both a hot desert, and the coniferous and deciduous forests, and steppes, and swamps, and even places where in the winter air temperature falls to minus 40 degrees.
Mountains are the main part making all natural complex of the country. Many call Kyrgyzstan by the second Switzerland because of similarity of the nature of the Swiss Alps and the Kyrgyz mountains. But if in the Alps of Switzerland there is no place where has glanced the tourist's look, then the nature of Kyrgyzstan remains pure and untouched, and every year draws more and more attention of fans of the mountain nature. Powerful ridges, the wide closed and half-closed intermountain hollows define features of the nature and climate. More than 6,5 thousand glaciers form Kyrgyz Arctic. In the territory of Kyrgyzstan there is the highest point of all Tian - Shanya-Jengish Chokusu. Its height makes 7439 meters, and there is he in east part of the country. The top, the second for height, - Lenin Peak 7134 meters high, is on the Trans Alai Range in the south of Kyrgyzstan. In mountains it is possible to meet a great number of the rare and disappearing animals included in the Red List. Among them there are arkhara, the Central Asian otters, gray monitor lizards, red wolves, and the true master of the Kyrgyz mountains, a magnificent snow leopard. For those who at least once will see with own eyes the majestic nature of Kyrgyzstan, will never forget picturesque mountain lakes, the rough mountain rivers, falls, majestic rocks, curative sources and century glaciers.

 

Day 1: Bishkek city tour

 

Today we will have an excursion in Bishkek. Bishkek is located at an altitude of 750 m above sea level. Excursion around the city of Bishkek will begin with a visit to Victory Square, Oak Park, Central Ala-Too Square, the Historical Museum, the National Philharmonic and other interesting places. After visiting all these places, we will go to lunch at a national restaurant. You will try the national Kyrgyz food. After lunch we will continue our tour and visit the Asian Bazaar (Osh market). The Asian bazaar was opened in Soviet times and was reconstructed in 2001. There you will find a lot of interesting things. Then we go to the hotel to rest. About 6 pm we go to dinner at one of the best local restaurants. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Bum Canyon (1453 m), trekking in the gorge "Pilon" (2,282 m), camp (2155).

Wake up, then 2 hours by bus on the excellent road to the canyon Boom (1453 m). Our horses, accompanied by our groom, will be waiting for us near the stone statue of a snow leopard, in Kyrgyzstan various statues are considered popular, most of which you can see along the road, for example: animals, workers with Hummers and other tools, are symbols of the Soviet era. We will distribute the load on the horses. We will move along the narrow. After a big farm, we climb the gorge "Pilon" with local Kyrgyz friends. Day 3: Trek gorge of Kolkhoz (2422)-Camp Touyok (2221).

Climbing the valley, you will see a lot of vegetation. We continue our way, narrowing to the right bank. We walk along the canyon, and we go out on huge pastures. The glacial peaks of the mountains remind us of the tops of nomadic yurts created by nomads in the summer. You will see abandoned collective farms left here many years ago. As the regime changed, the yurt camps became practical and cozy, especially for nomads, whose livelihood is livestock. From the gorge we go down to the valley Tuyk. Make camp on the lawn among the keepers in front of large mountain snowy peaks.

Day 4: Gorge Belboulak (2461)- Valley Chamsy (1761).

In the Belbulak canyon, this is a beautiful path with picturesque plantations. We can see a magnificent, mesmerizing panorama: coniferous forests, mountains and snow tops. Get down on the runway to the ford, continue to walk on water or on a horse. Another one hour walk to the camp, located next to several yurt camps.

Day 5: Trek: camp at the feet of Chamsy gorge (2980).

Rising from the valley, we walk along the runway, then continue along the path. Cross a few small rivers. We set up a camp at the foot of the Chamsa Gorge. In July, the valley is covered with flowers, the neighborhood will be hilly! Therefore, the tent should be properly trained

Day 6: Trek: Gorge Chamsy (3570) - plain of Kochkor (2460)- Pass Kyzart.

We will be rising up on ascent covered with flowers. Further up on the path along which you may watch rock fall and beautiful views from gorge. Further down to the valley marked on the map which finishes by canyon. At the end of canyon you will see plain with dry path leading to Kochkor valley. Our buses will be waiting for us here. The way to Kyzart village will take 1:30 hours. Overnight at local people.

Day 7: Trek: gorge Tuz Achou (3230m)-the north bank of Song Kul Lake (3010m).

 It’s 30 min walk to the south bank. it’s enough to raise up on the path 2480m altitude. The raise up to the mountains till Tuz Achou. The only panorama on Song Kul Lake considered the most beautiful. Smooth rise down where we will see many yurt camps around the lake. At the lake buses will join to us. Overnight in yurt.

Day 8: Song kul transfer to south part

Whole day horseback riding tour at Song kul lake. The life in Song kul lake is very interesting, on the way of our tour we will visit nomads and their hoses- yurts, where we can drink tasty tea with salt, try real beer of nomads-which call Kumys (fermented milk of mare), and eat Kyrgyz sheep`s cheese – Kurut. We ride horses towards the lake where we could find local fish men, they know many facts about the real life at Song Kul lake , sometimes they live there the whole year and in the winter temperature is around -40. We visit stones of Manas, where your guide will tell you the story about ancient Kyrgyz athletes. In the evening visiting of Moldo Ashuu pass which is on an altitude 3251 m. above sea level. Night in yurt.

Day 9. Song kul-Naryn (150km).

Walk up to the slopes above the lake to see the landscape clearly. You may see herds of animals with its shepherds. We may also climb up to a high cape to see the valley in all its length. Lunch in a yurt. After lunch we go to Naryn city where on the way you will enjoy a beautiful landscape. We reach Teskei-Torpok valley (3130) then we go down to Korgo valley. Dinner and overnight in local guest house in Naryn.

Day 10. Naryn Itchke valley (3090m), trek to valley (3430m), Tash-Rabat (3060m).

We keep our way on “international” motorway leading us to Torugart Pass and China. This road is very important for economics of Kyrgyzstan and China. After 2 hours on good road we raise up to Itchke valley. Small picnic. Keep our way on the path to Tash-Rabat (3500m). We stay in yurt camp and have dinner. Our buses will bring us our clothes. We also have to meet horse riders (couriers) who will be following us next 12 days. Night in the yurt camp.

Day 11. Trek to Tash-Rabat gorge (4020). Banks of Chatyrkul Lake, Karatai valley (3579m).

Today we shall have a long trek. Rise up to the valley on the main road which will be divided into many paths soon. A rough rise up from Tash-Rabat (4000m). It will be very difficult to rise down on the rock falls. Finally we reach the bank of Chatyrkul Lake on the south-west of Karatai valley. Dinner and overnight in tents. We also may watch yaks.

Day 12. Trek to valley (3720m), banks Chatyrkul Lake. camp Musteur (3530m).

We start our way by rising up from the valley among many yaks grazing on the green pastures. We rise down to west and north side of the bank of the lake. we follow the path which leads to Torugart. One hour of trek till glacier borders with China. Overnight in tents in Musteur valley.

Day13. Walk up to Musteur camp.

For today we have a choice. You may stay in yurt camp to wash the clothes, to talk to local shepherds or chill out. For others we may go up to glacier Kakchaal (5108m). Then we go back to our camp.

Day14. Trek to camp, Kurguntash River (3280m).

 The main direction of trek we experience today will involve ice channels of Fergana which we are going to cross on between east and west. This is a mountain chain with the north ice, slopes. Shepherds graze here horses, goats and cows. Here you can meet poachers hunting on animals. We will go to wild green water-meadows at the feet of the ice tops. Start walking to gorge located 3800m above the sea level. Overnight in tents at the bank of Kuzguntash River.

Day15. Trek valley Kokbel (3920m), camp (3520m).

We will start our way between 2 mountain chains. We cross the Seuk River. This side of the path allows us to enter on Chinese border quickly, the path used to be used in contraband aims. We keep our way on the stony road till the Kokbell valley. (Means on local language: worker). Rise down is going to be rough and difficult.

Day16. Trek to karakul valley, camp (3020m).

 We keep our way up till merging the path with a big valley. The path goes on the left of the bank. We will see a beautiful ice tops and several rivers we have to cross. The path keeps left side, from that side we may enjoy a magnificent mountain forest tract which according to words of local people is considered to be a good lightning-conductor. Overnight in yurt camp about small water spring.

Day 17.Trek Kitchi- Karakaman (3160m).

From left side there’re high tops with glaciers from the right side of the mountains where often you may watch storm. We come close to grassy zones. We cross three rivers. Put our tents in Kitchi Karakaman camp at the feet of beautiful mountains. This is a dream of every alpinist!

Day 18.Trek to camp of Chilbili (2660m).

The road is going to be difficult and hilly. We cross 2 rivers according to program. Lunch at local carbonated water spring. last raise down left. We keep our way to Chilbily valley. Overnight in tent.

Day 19. Trek valley Keuk Kia (3080m).

Agaty valley; Gelanghatch valley (3040m). We start out trek rising up to Keuk Kia valley. We keep left side to find the valley which leads to Gelanghatch. Lunch in Agaty valley (2620m). 2 hours 30 min of walking to reach our camp located higher Gelanghatch valley. We will be invited be hospitable shepherd family.

Day 20. Trek to Chuute valley (3620m), camp yurt Chuute valley (2250m).

 The path will follow crossing Fergana valley. The road is difficult for horses because it’s stony. We have rough and difficult rise down to valley until we reach canyon. After canyon we keep another path leading to our yurt camp. We won’t be able to put tents due to hilly vicinity. So, we stay at yurt camp with big herds of sheep. Dinner and overnight in yurt camp.

Day 21. River Yasseuh (1950m), transfer to Osh.

Last day trek begins with a small rise up to escape rocky road blocking the valley. Many nomads and shepherds live in the valley especially in summer. We cross several rivers even on an old bridges. The valley is covered with limestone on the bank. The will be shining hard so it’s going to be difficult trek. We reach the bridge crossing the Yasseuh River. We leave our friends with horses who goes back to Tash-Rabat. Buses will be waiting for us. After lunch we go to Osh a huge city on the south of Kyrgyzstan. On the way we visit ex mosque and Uzgen minaret (XI-XII). Overnight in Osh guesthouse.

Day 22. Visit of Osh city.

Visit of big bazaar, Suleiman Too Mountain. It’s very hot in Osh, so we stay in shadow of huge trees. Lunch and relax. Last diner in national cuisine. Short night in Osh.

The weather in Kyrgyzstan

 

The climate is continental in Kyrgyzstan, very cold winters and hot summers. In Kyrgyzstan, the best time is from mid-June to late September. But time, as elsewhere, can vary depending on the cycles of drought and hot periods or heavy rains! Because of the altitude and climate, we offer this trip in July or August. The climate is continental, with little precipitation. Air is changing dramatically reduce the heat during the day and at night in the summer, especially above 2000 m. The importance played by the differences between mountains and desert valleys. Snow lies on high peaks. Summer is quite hot and dry with possible thunderstorms, especially in June and July. The best time for hikes and excursions from May to October. Warning: the weather is unpredictable, so you need to be prepared for the difficult climatic conditions.

Requirements for passport and visa

 

 Make sure your passport is valid for more than 6 months after the expire date. A visa is not required for entry into Kyrgyzstan since 22.07.2016. Exactly such formalities and for the citizens of France and Switzerland. Travel always with a color passport photos and a copy of the passport.

 

Vaccination and health

 Currency in Kyrgyzstan is Kyrgyz Som. Banks, hotels, as a rule, accept Visa card, MasterCard. Kyrgyzstan is known for its wool (hats, shoes, coats, etc.), Handicrafts and tableware at Osh market ... Payment

The total amount is divided between the team driver, guide. We recommend you to make a separate envelope for each worker (guide, driver), to avoid trouble. Asia expedition may advise you to leave the KGS 110 euros per person as a tip. Based on the amount, it is multiplied by the number of days speaking guide 2 € per day the driver of 1-2 € per day. Assistant 1 € per day. We can leave you some tips in hotels and restaurants. In this trip, you will be accompanied by english-speaking local guide. Its role is to ensure the safety of the whole team, accompanied by you for the entire period of the trip, to ensure the quality of services provided. Accomodations and conditions

Journey  private vehicles, a minibus 4x4 depending on the location and size of the group. The roads are pretty bad, except for some major routes. However, considerable work on the building of new roads is conducted on Chinese and Tajik borders. Accommodation at the hotel, in the family and in the camps.  Hotel are in cities. Also for living, we use the tent for 3 persons per tent. Mattresses are also available. Everyone is responsible for assembling and dismantling his tent. Food

 Breakfast: hot dishes. Since the Kyrgyz people have been strong enough, they prefer a large amount of food . No problems. We provide you a meal, you can make additions in food to your liking.

 

Luggage

During the day you can take with a lightweight backpack with necessary items. In the camp you can leave your main bag where all your things .. Backpack: this bag you use in an airplane or wear every day for hikes, excursions and transfers. Reminder: length, width and depth of your bag must not exceed 115sm. Maximum of 5 kg. Attention never put in your hand luggage knife, metal or blunt objects, batons, food or liquid volume more than 100 ml during the flight. Most airlines limit the number and weight of baggage only one suitcase weighing 20 kg per person. Note: Any additional bag or extra weight will be charged by the airline during of registration. This should be a travel bag waterproof, very durable, and it should be marked by our labels to easily find it later. Secure your luggage: during air travel, your luggage is under the responsibility of the airline. Any dispute should be resolved directly between you and the carrier, with the arrival of the flight. In the case of non-delivery, theft or damage of your luggage, you need to write a statement from the airline. Our company will be with you to solve this problem, in the best case, your luggage will be delivered to you within a few business days. All additional costs of the loss of luggage fee on we solve on the place. During the trip, luggage should be adapted to transport it. Hygiene and Clothes

Behavior

 

It’s multicultural country, please  you must respect the customs, traditions, culture and religion people. In the city (mainly in Bishkek) dress code is free, but to visit religious places should wear long-sleeved clothing and pants. The campaigns in rural areas or small towns, villages, wear long sleeves that cover your knees and shoulders especially in religious places. For swimming in lakes and rivers, for the ladies one should choose shirt covering the entire body.  When we visit religious sites or living houses  one need to take off your shoes, stroking the child's head or shake hands with women are considered to be unacceptable.  Avoid aggressive tone, you should not raise your voice, gently exert signs of love in public or better avoid them in public places. Do not give pens, sweets and other gifts to children. This behavior is sort of begging and sometimes children drop out of school. Do not distribute drugs. Tipping is not required on a daily basis. Residents of the wealthy countries regularly tip.  Tipping may vary depending on the quality of services, guide services, drivers, service at the hotel and duration of services. In any case, keep in mind that it’s better to give nothing than not to give enough! At worst, you risk offending a person. If you want to give something out of their own pocket, do it friendly. To the locals it would be a gesture that you appreciated their work. In hotels, you can give a tip 0,10 € for luggage assistance. The country of nomads, has its own habits and customs, lifestyle.  It is important to pay attention to the protection and conservation of nature. Do not leave the non-degradable waste on the ground, take them with you! For example, the batteries have expired, plastic bags in towns and villages because the management of village waste is not always in control and destruction of litter!!! Therefore, it is imperative not to litter, not throw away degradable waste.

 

 Keep in mind, it is forbidden to buy souvenirs of wild animals and flowers. In particular, products of animal skins, crystal, etc.  If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask your guide. you should also pay   compensation for CO2 emissions corresponding to the number CO2 .
